OTTAWA, August 14, 2013 – 2011 World Champion Christopher Perkins (Athens, ON) and 2008 and 2012 Olympian Crispin Duenas (Toronto, ON) will lead a strong team of Canadian archers to the 2013 World Archery Championship in Antalya, Turkey, September 29th - October 7th. Athletes named by Archery Canada for the 2013 World Archery Championships were selected during the National Team Trials, held last week in Woodstock, New Brunswick.

OTTAWA, July 22, 2013 – Canadian compound bow archer Dietmar Trillus (King City, ON) brought home the bronze medal from this season’s 3rd World Cup of Archery event which wrapped-up Sunday in Medellin, Colombia.

Canadian Men to shoot for Bronze medals this weekend at the World Cup in Medellin Colombia.

Dietmar Trilluls, former World and World Cup Champion will shoot for Bronze against Martin Damsbo of Denmark on Saturday, then on Saturday the Canadian Men Recure Team, Hugh MacDonald, Jay Lyon and Crispin Duenas will shoot against the USA on Sunday.

OTTAWA (July 9, 2013) – Canada’s Para-Archery Team stood on the podium a total of 3 times at the Czech Target international para-archery tournament  in Nove Mesto nad Metuji, Czech Republic, July 1st -7th.  Canada was led by Norbert Murphy of Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, winner of the bronze medal at the 2012 London Paralympic Games. Murphy brought home the gold medal in the men’s compound W1 category in a hard fought gold medal round match against Peter Kinik of Slovakia.

50 athlete and coach pairings receive $8,000 to help fuel their sportdreams

 

OTTAWA (May 2, 2013) – Norbert Murphy (Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC) , winner of the bronze medal in archery at the 2012 Paralympic Games, began his 2013 outdoor season in fine form by setting a World record last month at the Arizona Cup in Phoenix, Arizona.  Murphy established the World record in the individual men’s Compound Bow, W1 category for 15 arrows shot. He achieved a score of 140 points out of a possible 150 points to win his category and set the record.
