Ushering in a new era of 3D Archery in Canada through cooperative agreement with ASA Archery and Archery Canada

Canadian archers gain the right to enter ASA (Archery Shooters Association) tournaments and Archery Canada will support the development of ASA tournaments in Canada as part of a new agreement between Archery Canada and the ASA, the two organizations have announced.

Archery Canada, which is dedicated to the promotion and development of all forms of archery, sees a strong fit with the ASA’s focus on 3-D archery. The ASA has established itself as a leading force in the movement to bring 3-D archery to the mainstream.

“This is an exciting development for Canadian archers,” said Aaron Bull, Archery Canada vice-president, 3-D archery. “ This will allow our members access to tournaments run by the fastest-growing archery association in the world.”

Under the new agreement, Archery Canada becomes the sole representative of ASA in Canada. The deal will allow Archery Canada to support a structure across Canada through its member provincial and territorial associations that will accommodate the ASA rules. Archery Canada will facilitate at a national/regional level and through its member associations an annual tournament calendar that will include ASA tournaments and promote the ASA format to all registered clubs.

Canadian clubs will have the option to register ASA shoots through the Archery Canada tournament calendar. Also, archers registered with Archery Canada through their provincial or territorial associations will now be able to compete in ASA State Qualifier and State Championship tournaments in the USA exempt from other fees beyond the traditional entry fees. ASA members will have similar access to Canadian ASA qualifiers and championships as they are developed and promoted.

The new agreement does not change Archery Canada’s commitment to following World Archery rules for its major national tournaments, but gives member clubs and associations the opportunity to develop new tournaments following ASA rules and regulations.

Archery Canada is the National Sport Organization dedicated to the promotion and development of all types of archery for all Canadians. AC supports the achievement of high performance excellence in archery and the development of a national archery infrastructure to promote archery participation across Canada in co-operation with our Members, the Provincial/Territorial Archery Associations.

The ASA is one of the fastest growing Archery organizations in the world and has established itself as a leading force in the movement to bring the sport of 3D Archery to the mainstream with chapters in 39 states, with over 330 club including clubs in the Bahamas.
