Call for Applications of Judges 2023 Canada Winter Games
Archery Canada is now accepting applications from qualified judges wishing to officiate at the 2023 Canada Winter Games. All judge applicants will be considered, based not only on experience, but also from the perspective of the development of Canadian archery.
Event Information:
The Archery Component of the 2023 Canada Winter Games, will be held at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island from February 27, 2023 to March 5, 2023.
Major Technical Officials (MTO) who reside a minimum of 100km from their sport’s primary competition venue will have their travel and accommodations covered/provided by the CGC and the 2023 Host Society. MTO accommodations will be double occupancy rooms at the Rodd Royalty in Charlottetown.
Judging Expenses
The Canada Games Council will provide officials who live at least 100 km away from the host community the following:
- Travel to and from the Canada Games (see Major Technical Officials and Sponsored Medical Personnel Travel and Reimbursement Policy);
- Reimbursement for costs incurred traveling to and from the Canada Games (see Major Technical Officials and Sponsored Medical Personnel Travel and Reimbursement Policy).
- Accommodations for the duration of the MTO/SMP’s stay in the host community;
- 3 meals per day, or $60 per day in lieu of meals*;
- $12 for breakfast
- $14 for Lunch
- $34 for dinner
*The Host Society may choose to provide meals instead of the per diem amounts. Food provided must be equivalent to the value of the per diem amount (i.e. if the Host Society plans to provide breakfast, the value of the breakfast to each MTO/SMP must be $12).
The Host Society will provide all MTOs/SMPs with:
- A complete volunteer uniform package;
- A pin or other souvenir item;
- Access to a lounge on a nightly basis;
- A ticket to the Opening and/or Closing Ceremony*.
Canada Games Council COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
Please note, the Canada Games Council COVID-19 Vaccination policy will be in effect at these games, and will apply to all Officials. Please see below:
CGC’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
As per CGC’s Vaccination Policy, all accredited individuals, including Major Technical Officials, at the 2023 Canada Winter Games must receive and provide proof of a complete and up-to-date series of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to their arrival at the Games. Accommodations will be made for individuals who are either ineligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination or have received an exemption on medical or religious grounds.
Selection Process
The Archery Canada Judging Committee will review all applications and nominate judges to the Officials Team for the 2023 Canada Games. Nominations to the Officials Team will be approved by the Archery Canada Judging Committee at the end of August 2022, after which all judges named to Officials Teams will be notified.
