Rene Schaub receives Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award

LAC LA BICHE, AB – Archery Canada is excited to announce that Rene Schaub has been recognized for his significant contributions to the province of Alberta by receiving the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award. As many who are active in the archery community know, Rene has played a significant role in the archery community, most recently stepping in at the last minute to help organize and host the 2022 Canadian 3D Indoor Championships.

On the international stage, Rene has been instrumental in bringing the world’s archers to Canada. In 2019, he and the Lakeland Archers welcomed over 300 archers for the World Archery 3D Championships and it was just recently announced that they will be the hosts for the World Archery Field Championships in 2024. Rene has also led Canadian Field and 3D delegations to competitions around the world, including the 2022 World Archery 3D Championships last summer in Terni, Italy.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award was created to mark the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne. It is given to Alberta residents in recognition of significant contributions that they have made to the province.

Archery Canada is happy to see that Rene has been recognized for all the work that he has done for the province of Alberta.
