The 2022 Youth and Masters Pan American Championships are coming to Halifax, Nova Scotia

OTTAWA, ON — The World Archery America’s 2022 Youth and Masters Pan American Championships (YMPAC) has been awarded to Halifax, Nova Scotia. This will be the first year we see the split of the Championships to accommodate more archers in specific age categories. The Championships will take place May 30th – June 6th 2022

Bringing this inaugural international event to the Maritimes is a big accomplishment for archery in Canada. “We are excited to be in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and hosting this international event. This will be the first international Target event that we have hosted in Canada since 1997, and that’s important for the development of our sport” said Al Wills, Archery Canada President.  “The event will be a great opportunity for the local community to host archers from across the America’s and showcase the hospitality the region is known for. It will also be a great opportunity to focus the attention on the Youth and Masters age groups. ”  In previous years, the Pan American Championships included all age categories, and has grown over recent years, seeing the need to split into (2) separate championship events.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for archers in Nova Scotia, of all ages, to see a competitive tournament of this stature here in Halifax,” said Melanie Lefler, President of Archery Nova Scotia. “This will be a great experience for our athletes and hopefully inspire more competitions to come to Canada.  For most participants, it will be their first experience in Canada.  We live in a great province, and it is exciting to showcase what Halifax has to offer.”

The 2022  Youth and Masters Pan American Championships will  bring hundreds of archers from across North and South America to Halifax Nova Scotia.

The 2022 Youth and Masters Pan American Championships will be a Target Archery event and open to the following equipment and age categories:

  • Recurve – Cadet, Junior and Masters
  • Compound – Cadet, Junior and Masters
  • Barebow – Cadet, Junior and Masters.

Further information of registration, and event logistics will be made available shortly.
