2026 Canadian Outdoor Archery Championships Set for August in Muskoka
Archery Canada is pleased to announce that the 2026 Canadian Outdoor Archery Championships will take place August 7–15, 2026, in Ontario’s Muskoka region, welcoming athletes from across the country for Canada’s premier outdoor archery event.
The Championships will showcase three distinct styles of outdoor archery across multiple venues.
- Both the Canadian Outdoor 3D and Field Championships will be hosted at the home club of Archers in Muskoka, with courses designed in accordance with Archery Canada rules, highlighting the region’s natural terrain and wooded landscapes.
- The Canadian Outdoor Target Championships will be held at the Muskoka Airport, providing a large, unique venue for these championships.
All events will be conducted in accordance with Archery Canada rules which are based on the World Archery rule books.
“The Canadian Outdoor Championships are about more than competition—they’re about bringing our community together in environments that reflect the spirit of outdoor archery in Canada,” said Gord Shields, Chair of the Championships Organizing Committee. “Muskoka gives us a unique opportunity to deliver a national event that is challenging, memorable, and distinctly Canadian.”
The Championships mark the largest week of national archery competition in Canada each year, hosting over 350 participants and continuing a proud tradition that celebrates the sport while supporting athletes on their journey toward high-performance competition.
In addition to national titles, the 2026 Target Championships are expected to feature a special showcase event, as organizers plan an attempt to break a world record for the longest accurate target shot across three bow styles. Further details on this initiative will be announced in the coming weeks.
