Amelia Gagne awarded Roger Garrod Bursary

OTTAWA, ON – The Archery Canada Foundation is thrilled to announce Amelia Gagne of Peterborough, ON as the recipient of the prestigious 2025 Roger Garrod Memorial Bursary. Her remarkable commitment to archery excellence along with excellent academic achievements made her our choice for this award in Roger’s name.
The selection process was highly competitive this year, with all candidates demonstrating exceptional qualifications and accomplishments that reflect positively on Canadian sport and archery in particular. The Foundation remains committed to supporting talented Canadian athletes in their pursuit of excellence.
This bursary, made possible through the generosity of Roger’s wife, Helen Garrod, is awarded each year to a Canadian archer between the ages of 17 and 21 who has either represented or will represent Canada at a World Championship or other recognized international archery event.
In addition to competition experience, eligible applicants must also demonstrate clear intent to pursue post-secondary education in the coming academic year.
Above all, the recipient must embody the values that Roger upheld throughout his life and involvement in sport—sportsmanship, dignity, and conduct that brings honour to both archery and Canada, in moments of both triumph and adversity.
