Call for Expression of Interest – AC Athlete Council

Archery Canada is seeking interested current or former National Team athletes who are
capable, willing and motivated to represent Canadian National Team members in a
volunteer capacity on the Athlete Council. Any athlete who has represented Canada as
a member of a Junior or Senior team in any of the stated disciplines within 6 years of
the nomination period is eligible to be nominated to the Council. Council members must
be at least 18 years of age in the year they are elected. The Council is composed of 8
athlete representatives, including the Athlete Director, with the following elected
representatives: one (1) para classified representative; two (2) representatives from
target compound, target recurve, and 3D/Field archery. A balance of male and female
representatives will be sought such that no more than 60% of the council will be
representative of a particular gender.

There will be 4 election positions for 2 years and 3 positions for 1 year.

The Athlete Council is a Board Standing Committee that assists Archery Canada, the
Board of Directors, staff and other committees by representing the collective voice of all
Archery Canada’s high-performance athletes, regardless of discipline, and will assist the
organization in the fulfillment of its mission and the pursuit of its vision.

Individuals interested in submitting their candidature are kindly asked to complete the
Expression of Interest (EOI) form: https://archerycanada.ca/athlete-council-expression-
of-interest/, no later than November 21st, 2025. Should you have additional questions

The Expressions of Interest will be reviewed by a board appointed nominating
committee which will include at least one member of the existing Council who will not be
running for another term. Archery Canada will facilitate an electronic election process to
be concluded by December 21, 2025.

Voting starts December 1 

Eligible voting athletes will receive the election links which will be through survey
monkey. On the ballots, each voter will select up to two candidates per discipline We
would use a first-past-the-post election method for determining the result (the two
candidates in each discipline with the most votes are elected).In each discipline, the first
ranked will serve 2-year terms and the second will serve 1-year terms. Note: Only
