Comeau & Tremblay Finish 4th in Compound Men’s Doubles at Para Archery Worlds

Gwangju, Korea – September 22-28, 2025
Team Canada closed out the 2025 World Archery Para Championships with promising results and valuable international experience. Competing against the best para-archers in the world, Canadian athletes achieved personal bests and earned a spot on the big stage, with Daniel Comeau and Kyle Tremblay finishing 4th in the Compound Men Open Doubles.
“It was valuable to see where we stacked up internationally,” said Head Coach Linda Price. “To compete at such a high-level event definitely showed our potential to make the podium at the next World Championships. Overall, we had personal best scores from athletes and of course to make the stage for the bronze medal match for Men’s Compound Doubles was amazing. The team dynamic was at its best for this event, which assisted in producing great results. We will carry this momentum forward towards our ultimate goal of LA2028.”
Making his World Championship debut, Daniel Comeau of Shannon, QC, impressed with his strong shooting and reflection on the experience:
“I was so happy to participate in the World Championships for the first time. I loved my experience. I really learned from my first experience, especially from the mistakes I made! I will not make those mistakes again. I now know what I need to work on to improve. I know I can do much better. I will come back much stronger next year! I have only been doing archery for two and a half years, and to have the chance to share the shooting range with the best in the world and be able to see where I am among them, it is an incredible emotion! I can confirm that this is only the beginning for me in the world of archery!”
The World Championships served as the final international event of the outdoor season and an important stepping stone for Canada’s para archers as they set their sights on the 2027 Para Pan American Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
