Canada Cup West 2025 Wrap-Up: A Record-Breaking Start to the National Outdoor Season

Calgary, AB – June 2, 2025 – With blue skies and record numbers, the 2025 Canada Cup West kicked off the national outdoor archery season in spectacular form this past weekend. Hosted by the outstanding team at Jimbows Junior Archery Club, the event brought together 118 archers from eight provinces and territories as well as the United States, marking a new high in participation for the western leg of Archery Canada’s Canada Cup series.

The competition showcased some of Canada’s top archery talent alongside emerging young athletes and seasoned veterans delivering some exciting competition that came down to final shoots offs in some of the medal rounds.

Among the weekend’s standout performances were:

  • Greg Moore and Stephanie Barrett topping the senior recurve divisions for men and women respectively, with double Ontario podium finishes in the women’s category.
  • In compound, Jacob McArthur (USA) and Bryanne Lameg (MB) captured top honours in the senior/U21 categories.
  • Saskatchewan took topped the podium in Barebow, led by Jovica Djukic.
  • Rising talents like Ryli Yee (USA) and Khushreet Sandhu (MB) claimed gold in the U18/50+ compound and recurve divisions for women, while Cavic Chan (BC) and Austin Marasco (MB) claimed gold in the U18/50+ compound and recurve divisions for Men.
  • Daniel Comeau (QC) took the Gold in Para Archery Open Compound Men, with Jean-Francois Lavergne (QC) taking Gold for Para Archery Recurve Open Men and Spencer Arnold  (BC) taking Gold in Para W1 Men.

This Canada Cup has become an important event in the high-performance pathway and includes a Mixed Team competition, which continues to grow in prominence. Kylie Oliver and Cavic Chan teamed up to take gold in Recurve Mixed Team, while Acadia Flockton and Austin Marasco topped the podium in Compound Mixed Team.

The next stop on the national calendar is Canada Cup East, taking place June 20–22 in Caledon, Ontario, where the country’s top archers will once again meet in pursuit of national ranking and development opportunities.
