In 1976 and 1984 Fred was the colour commentator for the Olympic Games.
Canadian team manager and world-class judge. He managed Canadian Teams, organized fund raising to assist Canadian Olympic Teams organized National Championships and Olympic Trials. A mainstay of the Victoria Archery scene for 40 years. Selected as Volunteer Administrator of the Year for 1983. Colour commentator for the 1976 and 1984 Olympic Games. He was also honored by World Archery (then
FITA) with their Bronze Plaquette only the third North American to be so recognized.
Well known on the Victoria music scene for his singing and playing with the ‘Hometowners’, who played for the Queen in 1959 His extensive archery book collection
was donated to the International Olympic Committee’s library in Switzerland.
