“The Pan Am Championships is our best opportunity to qualify for a woman’s spot at the Olympics,” said Shawn Riggs, Recurve National Coach. “It is where we were successful in 2016, and it was great to see the women at or near their peak at the selection camp, this past weekend (Feb. 23-24th). It bodes well going into the competition, and will allow all the women to walk in with a lot of confidence.”
The 2020 Pan American Championships, will provide a second opportunity for our women’s team to earn an individual quota spot for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, during a separate Continental Qualification Tournament. From this event, Canada has the opportunity to earn a quota spot, and three women will shoot in this event, consisting of: Tania Edwards, Stephanie Barrett, and Virginie Chénier.
