Ron van der Hoff departs Archery Canada

OTTAWA, ON – Archery Canada would like to thank Ron van der Hoff as he wraps up his time with us and gets ready to take on a new role with Archery GB. Over the past couple of years, Ron has worked closely with athletes, coaches, and staff to help push Canadian archery forward.
Since stepping into the role of National Coach Advisor in January 2023, Ron’s had a big impact on the high performance program. He’s been part of some major team moments, like the 2023 World Archery Championships, where all of Canada’s recurve athletes made it into the elimination rounds — and Eric Peters brought home a silver medal in men’s recurve.
That momentum carried into 2024, with Peters, Reece Wilson-Poyton, and Brandon Xuereb teaming up for a historic bronze medal at the World Cup stage in Yecheon, Korea — Canada’s first-ever World Cup team medal. Big results like these don’t come easy and reflect the hard work from everyone involved, on and off the field.
Ron also worked with the team at Archery Canada to put together a long-term plan leading toward the Brisbane 2032 Olympics, helping lay the groundwork for what comes next.
“I want to thank the athletes and staff members of Archery Canada for the incredible and meaningful experiences we’ve shared over the past few years,” says van der Hoff. “It’s clear which direction Archery Canada needs to continue developing, and with the support of archers and coaches across the country, I’m confident the future is bright for Canadian archery.”
As we go through this transition, Linda Price, currently the Para Head Coach, will step in to help support the athletes. We’ll share more updates in the coming weeks.
Please join us in thanking Ron for everything he’s brought to the program — and wishing him all the best in what’s next!
