Archers gathering in PEI for YMPAC selection camp

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Young archers from across the country are gathering this week in Charlottetown for a selection camp that will determine the team heading to the Youth and Masters Pan Am Championships (YMPAC), taking place in Halifax, NS, this June.
Archers from 7 different provinces (BC, AB, MB, ON, QC, NS, PE) and 1 territory (YU) will attend, which, after more than 2 years of the COVID pandemic, will be a welcome sight. It highlights the beginning of what will hopefully be a very full outdoor competitive season, both nationally and internationally.
This event will double as a test event for the Canada Winter Games, to be hosted by the province in 2023. The camp is set to welcome both recurve and compound archers in the U21 (junior) and U18 (cadet) age categories. The Masters team has already been announced.
It is a great opportunity for young archers across the country to come together and shoot for a spot on the YMPAC Canadian team. The Archery Canada Technical Leadership will also lead an in-person seminar series for any PTSO coaches attending the event, as well as any NCCP-Certified coaches who wish to join.
