16 Athletes set to compete at Pan Am Championships
Ottawa, ON – Archery Canada is proud to announce the following athletes have been selected to represent Canada at the 2026 Pan American Archery Championship in Tlaxcala, Mexico. This championship is the primary qualification event for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games and carries the largest allocation of spots of any qualifier on the road to Lima.

Road to Lima 2027 — Qualification Pathway
Tlaxcala is the biggest single opportunity on the qualification calendar, offering up to 27 spots per gender across recurve and compound. Here is how the full pathway unfolds:
- Asuncion 2025 Junior Pan American Games — complete
- 4 individual spots awarded to gold medalists (athlete quota, non-transferable)
- 1 Recurve M, 1 Recurve W, 1 Compound M, 1 Compound W
- Pan American Championships, Tlaxcala, Mexico · June 23–28, 2026.
- Top 5 recurve teams (15 spots) + 3 individual spots per gender.
- Top 4 compound teams (8 spots) + 1 individual spot per gender.
- North American Qualifier
- Tlaxcala, Mexico · June 23–28, 2026 (concurrent). Reserved for Canada & USA only
- 1 recurve spot per gender for the top-ranked North American archer not already qualified.
- Central American & Caribbean Games, South American Games – Canada & USA not eligible to compete at
- One individual spot per discipline for the top-ranked archer from a country not yet qualified (must finish top 8 in the Individual Olympic Round).
- Final Qualifier – Date and location to be determined
- Final opportunity for countries still unqualified. Top 2 recurve teams per gender (6 spots each) + 2 individual spots per gender. Top 2 compound teams per gender (4 spots each) + 1 individual spot per gender.
Qualification for the Pan Am Games is a crucial step in the pathway to the LA 2028 Olympic Games, where spots for the Games will be on the line. Athletes at the 2027 Pan Am Games will be eligible to earn 1 mixed team recurve, 1 mixed team compound, 2 women’s individual recurve, and 2 men’s individual recurve spots for the LA 2028 Games.
