Attn: U18 Recurve Archers – Youth Olympic Games

Attention U18 Recurve Archers!

The Canadian Olympic Committee has received (1) Male and (1) Female, U18 Recurve Athlete Quotas, that will allow Archery Canada to nominate (2) athletes to compete at this years 2026 Youth Olympic Games, in Dakar Senegal from Oct. 31 – Nov. 13 2026

This is a unique opportunity and will provide a unique competition experience to up and coming Recurve archers.

The full nomination procedure to select athletes for this event will be published shortly. While the process is being finalized, there is key eligibility criteria set by World Archery and the International Olympic Committee, that interested athletes should be aware of, as the outdoor season commences:

Minimum Qualification Score (MQS):

World Archery has set a minimum qualification score that must be met by the athletes to be eligible for nomination to this event. Those scores are:

  • Recurve U18 Men: 615
  • Recurve U18 Women: 605

Athletes will have until August. 7th 2026, to shoot the MQS at an eligible World Archery registered/sanctioned event.  Please note the deadline for the MQS was set by World Archery and the International Olympic Committee. This means that the Canadian National Outdoor Championships, scheduled for Aug 8-10, 2026 will NOT be an eligible event as a result.

World Archery Registered/Sanctioned Events:

For the MQS score to be recognized for nomination for the Youth Olympic Games, it must be obtained at a World Archery registered/sanctioned event!

Local clubs can register their local 720 event with World Archery, by requesting to do so through our Ianseo event system. If any questions on how to register their event, please contact Priyanka at: pdhanie@archerycanada.ca

The Full nomination procedure will be published as soon as possible.
