Canada Cup West Opens National Outdoor Archery Season

CALGARY, AB – Canada Cup West is set to take place from May 30 to June 1 in Calgary, Alberta and will kick off the national outdoor archery season. This year marks the largest Canada Cup West in history, with over 130 participants, the first time it has been organized with a sold out registration. The event will be hosted at Jimbows Junior Archery Club, who will welcome archers of 50+, 21+, U21 and U18 classes, in recurve, compound, and barebow. This is the third year the Canada Cup West has been organized since it was rebranded with the addition of Canada Cup East and it is considered one of the major target archery competitions held in Canada each year.

Sahil Sahota, a Jimbows Junior archer, is excited to see the competition at his home club. “I’m really looking forward to Canada Cup West. It’s always an amazing event with archers travelling from across Canada and the U.S this year to compete. I’m incredibly proud that it is being hosted by my home club Jim-bows Archery, and I hope it will be a great experience for all the archers.”

Brynnleigh Lohner shares the same sentiment. “Canada Cup West is always such a fun event to kick off the outdoor season, and this year my club has the opportunity to host it! I am super excited to represent both my club and my province, and to shoot with people from all over western Canada and the United States. With such a high athlete turnout, and a beautiful location, I am sure Canada Cup West 2025 will be a success!”

The competition consists of a 720 qualification round to determine athletes’ seeding, an elimination round, and a mixed team competition. In addition to the usual competition, the Local Organizing Committee will be hosting an optional 720 round open to all archers and the CanWest Youth Cup, which is exclusively for those in the U15 age category.
