Sahil Sahota and Lochlyn Good are Awarded the Roger Garrod Memorial Bursary

OTTAWA, ON – The Archery Canada Foundation is pleased to announce that Lochlyn Good of Desbarats, Ontario, and Sahil Sahota of Calgary, Alberta, are the recipients of the 2026 Roger Garrod Memorial Scholarships.

Both recipients have distinguished themselves through their commitment to archery, their excellent academic achievements, and their ongoing involvement in their communities. The selection process was highly competitive, with candidates demonstrating qualities that bring honor to Canadian archery and the sport in general.

This scholarship, made possible through the generosity of Roger’s wife, Helen Garrod, is awarded to Canadian archers who have demonstrated excellence in competition, a commitment to post-secondary education, and the values that Roger championed throughout his life in the sport: sportsmanship, dignity, and respect.

Lochlyn Good will major in accounting and plans to pursue studies in forensic science as well as a career in forensic accounting. She has competed in several archery disciplines, including indoor archery, outdoor target archery, 3D archery, and field archery. In 2025, Lochlyn won the title of Grand Champion after competing in all five provincial disciplines and achieving the highest overall score in her category. Lochlyn has also been actively involved in the sport through volunteering, coaching, and taking on leadership roles. She has supported numerous archery events and has been recognized for her reliability, initiative, and ability to take on responsibilities.

Sahil Sahota will pursue studies in biomedical sciences, a field in which he has maintained excellent academic performance while competing at a high level. Sahil has represented Canada internationally, notably at the
2023 and 2025 World Junior Archery Championships, the 2024 Pan American Junior and Masters Championships, and the 2026 Pan American Junior and Masters Championships. Sahil also contributes to the archery community as a junior coach, working with
young athletes during the indoor season.

The Archery Canada Foundation congratulates Lochlyn Good and Sahil Sahota on being named recipients of the 2026 Roger Garrod Memorial Scholarship, and thanks the Garrod family for their ongoing support of young Canadian archers.
